Karnee (Creativity) Kriya – #PranayamaThursday

“You have to develop the sensitivity of the brain that lets you know the truth: the Unknown is know to me. The same sensitivity that is totality and Infinity in every unique human being and can only be achieved through discipline. Discipline of the consciousness is the acknowledgement of the spirit. All human difficulities can be eliminated once you have a harmony between conscious mind and subconscious mind toward the supreme conscious mind… Harmony between conscious and subconscious is a gateway to Infinity and that is the spirit we are talking about.” Yogi Bhajan – 5/17/79

To Begin:

Posture: Sit in Easy Pose, Chest Out, Chin In. Keep the spine straight.

Mudra: Use your thumb to hold down your Ring and Pinkie Fingers.  Extend your Middle and Index Fingers and bring them together at the Throat.  Keep your fingers straight.

Drishti: Eye Focus is at the Third Eye at the Center of the Brow.

Pranayama: Inhale (2-3 seconds), Suspend the Breath (as long as you comfortably can), Exhale Slowly (10-15 seconds). Calm down your mind while your breath is suspended in. Find the neutrality here. Find the empty space. Find the neutrality here. Experience a deep stillness.

Mantra: While the breath is suspended in, mentally add your favorite mantra.  Chant it silently with the breath held in, as your nervous system reconditions itself.  Allow the mantra to establish a new pattern within you.  Feel your vibration change.

Time: Start with 3 minutes and if you feel comfortable, build up to 11 minutes.

In yesterday’s blog, we discussed the effects of suspending the breath on the exhale. In today’s pranayam, we suspended the breath on the exhale.

Meditation for the Negative Mind – #meditationwednesday

Sat Nam today is the first day of switching over to my blog for the Daily Suggestions.  I will still be sharing the info on Facebook, but making this available to those not on Facebook as well.

February begins a Focus on a New Body.  During January the focus was on the Soul Body, but in January we move to the Negative Mind.  Don’t be fooled by it’s name, the negative mind does have a positive aspect… it protects us.  It assesses danger and helps calculate risk based on previous experiences and information.  The goal is to not let the Negative Mind become OVER-protective.  To not see the risk and danger only in every sitution, but to balance that and be able to find the Neutral Solution.  This Medition is very simple and great for when the Negative Mind becomes over-active. At the end of the Meditation you will be suspending the breath out which effects the parasympathetic nervous system.  An over-active Negative Mind can always seem “On Alert”. Suspending on the exhale can lower the blood pressure, as well allowing your body and mind to relax.
